Chengdu, you cannot miss

The Land of Abundance, Chengdu

Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province in the southwest, has been the economic and cultural center of China's most populous province since 400 BC. The surrounding Chengdu Plain is also known as the "Country of Heaven" and the "Land of Abundance". So, let’s go to explore the beautiful and entertaining city.

Wide and Narrow Alley (Kuanzhai Xiangzi)

Consisting of Wide Alley (Kuan Xiangzi), Narrow Alley (Zhai Xiangzi), Well Alley (Jing Xiangzi) three parallel ancient city alleys and 45 courtyards along them. Wide alley exhibits the leisurely life of natives and represents the most typical forms of Chengdu folk culture. The feature of the narrow alley is the typical slow life of Chengdu natives. It mainly shows the courtyard culture of the city and courtyard dreams of Chinese people. Applying a theme to the new life of Chengdu people, Well Alley is the modern side of Wide and Narrow Alley, as well as the most open, most diverse, and most dynamic zone in the area.

Jinli Old Street

Jinli Old Street is one of the oldest shopping streets in Sichuan Province, and it can be traced back to the Three Kingdoms Period, over 1,800 years ago. In addition, you can do many things on this street, for instance, shopping on a mix of classy shops and some souvenir shops, tasting local snacks and so on.

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

The city’s most famous resident is not human. This is panda county: it’s the best place in the world to see Giant Pandas that are not confined to a zoo cage. A number of reserves and breeding centers are within easy reach in and around the city.

Chunxi Road Shopping District

Chunxi Road is a pedestrianized shopping street in Chengdu. More than 700 shops can be found here including large shopping malls, department stores, supermarkets, street stalls, and boutiques, as well as modern cafes, and a public square.

Sichuan cuisine

In 2010, Chengdu was named a UNESCO City of Gastronomy. It's not hard to see why, when there are restaurants and street vendors serving mouth-wateringly delicious dishes and snacks on pretty much every street. It really is a place where food is taken seriously and done well.

That's all for Chengdu for today. if you are interested in our topic about travel around the world please do not hesitate to follow us on twitter @ISYS_ECS for the further update. Thank you.
