Japan - Osaka 大阪 Picture taken by: https://insideosaka.com/ Mount Fuji 富士山 Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest mountain of 3,776m is also one of the country’s Three Holy Mountains, the other two being Mount Haku and Mount Tate. Mount Fuji is actually a volcano that has not erupted for many years - last time it erupted 1707-08. Picture taken from: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2018_tokaido.html Bullet train (Shinkansen) Taking a bullet train between Tokyo and Osaka is popular among tourists, especially during Spring (cherry blossom season). Towards Osaka, tourists are able to see Mount Fuji, given clear skies, sunny day. There will be an extra charge to people who book seats towards the window to see mount fuji. The bullet train I took was called ‘Nozomi’. It is the fastest out of all the other bullet trains, taking around 2.5 hours one way. Here’s a picture of Mount Fuji that I took during my trip to Japan. Japan - Tokyo 東京 Picture taken by Rachael Ong The capital city of Japan - Tokyo is an enormous bustling city made up of 23 wards. There are numerous tourist attractions in the city alone. This blog will focus on some of these attractions. Senso-ji  浅草寺 Picture taken by Rachael Ong Senso-ji is Japan’s Buddhist temple and it is the oldest temples constructed in Japan (completed in the year 628). It is built to show the Buddhist goddess of Mercy, Guanyin. During Spring, Tokyo’s most popular festival Sanja Matsuri (3 Shrine Festival)  is celebrated here. Lots of parades, music and dancing. Behind the temple you can find a street called Nakamise dori ((仲見世通り) filled with small shops selling food and sourvenirs.
