Xiamen, a popular and enjoyable city that you deserve to go



Xiamen, an island city that locates on the southeast of China. The picture above shows its peculiar urban layout. You will see more attractions when travel in this clean city.

Kulangsu (Gulangyu in Chinese)










It is a historic international settlement based on the resource and also a wonderful place with many modern buildings, museums and various shops.  The famous attractions are Sunlight Rock, Shuzhuang Park, The memorial for Chenggong Zheng and so on. There are also various shops with various styles.

Due to a special location,  the travellers need to take the ferry to get the island.  I took the bus first and then took a ferry to the wharf. (You could pick a suitable time to avoid waiting more than one hour during the peak)

AmoiYatSen Road

It is a sophisticated business street in Xiamen with a large prosperity, especially at night. The reserved buildings here have the style of Southeast Asia. Besides, there are lots of tasty and special snacks with the characteristics of Fujian and Taiwan.



Xiamen University 



Xiamen University was created in 1924 and was one of the comprehensive universities that straightly conducted by the Chinese Ministry of Education.  It was listed in the "211" and "985" projects and got the title called the Double First-rate in 2017, which means it is one of the world-class universities and has the world-class subjects at the meantime.  Xiamen University's honour attracts many tourists to visit very weekdays. Attention please, you may need to get in line early if you want to visit between 12:00 to 14:00 because there is a limitation of visitors around 300 people. 




Huandao Road in Amoy


Huandao Rd is the arterial street that surrounded the Xiamen island, it crosses Siming District and Huli District and has a distance about 43 kilometres. At present, it has two main routes, you could ride or take the bus or taxi to travel around the east road or south road around the island.

My friend and I rode the bicycle together for more than 7 Kilometres and took several break sat at the side of the rode and enjoyed the tasty and fresh coconut milk in an summer.

Things to do at Tokyo!

Japan - Tokyo 東京 Picture taken by Rachael Ong The capital city of Japan - Tokyo is an enormous bustling city made up of 23 wards. There are numerous tourist attractions in the city alone. This blog will focus on some of these attractions. Senso-ji  浅草寺 Picture taken by Rachael Ong Senso-ji is Japan’s Buddhist temple and it is the oldest temples constructed in Japan (completed in the year 628). It is built to show the Buddhist goddess of Mercy, Guanyin. During Spring, Tokyo’s most popular festival Sanja Matsuri (3 Shrine Festival)  is celebrated here. Lots of parades, music and dancing. Behind the temple you can find a street called Nakamise dori ((仲見世通り) filled with small shops selling food and sourvenirs.
