There is no place like Kyoto

Kyoto is synonymous with traditional Japan. Having the highest concentration of cultural treasures in the entire country. This historical city is a must-see destination for travelers hoping to get a glimpse of old Japan. Today, Kyoto’s main attractions include countless temples, shrines, gardens and other historical buildings. Kinkakuji On the north side of the city, stands one of the most recognizable buildings in Kyoto, Kinkakuji, also called the Golden Pavilion whose top two floors are covered in gold leaf. It is one of the sites that make up Kyoto’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kiyomizudera Perhaps Kiyomizudera’s most eye-catching feature is the 13m tall wooden stage which projects from the front of the main temple building. At the bottom of the temple grounds runs the Otowa Waterfall whose famously pure waters are split into three streams. A Glimpse of Osaka

Japan - Osaka 大阪 Picture taken by: https://insideosaka.com/ Mount Fuji 富士山 Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest mountain of 3,776m is also one of the country’s Three Holy Mountains, the other two being Mount Haku and Mount Tate. Mount Fuji is actually a volcano that has not erupted for many years - last time it erupted 1707-08. Picture taken from: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2018_tokaido.html Bullet train (Shinkansen) Taking a bullet train between Tokyo and Osaka is popular among tourists, especially during Spring (cherry blossom season). Towards Osaka, tourists are able to see Mount Fuji, given clear skies, sunny day. There will be an extra charge to people who book seats towards the window to see mount fuji. National Stadium (Bird's Nest)  This remarkable architecture locates in Olympic Green Village and was the main stadium for Olympics in 2008.  It took 21 hectares to build. In addition, there is around 91,000 auditorium inside the building.  Since the Olympics ended, Bird's Nest becomes the professional location for Beijing citizens to participate in various sporting and entertaining activities. Hence, Beijing National Stadium is a magnificent landmark as sports architecture and Olympic legacy. Japan - Tokyo 東京 Picture taken by Rachael Ong The capital city of Japan - Tokyo is an enormous bustling city made up of 23 wards. There are numerous tourist attractions in the city alone. This blog will focus on some of these attractions. Senso-ji  浅草寺 Picture taken by Rachael Ong Senso-ji is Japan’s Buddhist temple and it is the oldest temples constructed in Japan (completed in the year 628). It is built to show the Buddhist goddess of Mercy, Guanyin. During Spring, Tokyo’s most popular festival Sanja Matsuri (3 Shrine Festival)  is celebrated here. Lots of parades, music and dancing. Behind the temple you can find a street called Nakamise dori ((仲見世通り) filled with small shops selling food and sourvenirs.
